                      Blue Halu and the Mystery Spot

Blue Halu was the wildest wiggling woggle of Fairy Tale Lane. Every day he awoke with a big grin on his face ready to face whatever adventures were awaiting him.

One particular morning he woke up as usual, jumping from his bed and stretching out his wiggling woggle arms excited to start the day. He was distracted almost immediately by a spot moving upon his bedroom wall.

Scampering over his bed he attempted to stand on it so he could better look at this mysterious spot. The white circle jumped around his bedroom wall with a life of its own, teasing Blue Halu to join in the fun. Blue Halu wanted to play, he liked making new friends but his mother called him down for breakfast.

“Mommy,” Blue Halu called loudly to his mother running into the dining room.

Mommy Halu looked up giving Blue Halu a warm smile, “Yes Blue Halu?”

“Mommy there is a mystery spot on my bedroom wall!” he shouted tugging at her hand and trying to wiggle her to his bedroom.

Mommy Halu followed Blue Halu but looking at the wall Mommy Halu saw nothing but the normal wall. Shaking her head Mommy Halu sighed sadly. Holding out her hand she waited for Blue Halu to take it.

Taking him to Daddy Halu she explained what had happened. Daddy Halu shook his head like Mommy Halu, always amazed at the small woggles wild imagination. The small woggle tried to explain but decided he had more important things to do.

Going outside Blue Halu was determined to prove he hadn’t been telling lies and that there had been a mystery spot on his bedroom wall. Wildly wiggling his way down the street he stopped outside Professor Wimbleby’s house.

Knocking loudly on the door Blue Halu shouted, “Professor Wimbleby I have a mystery!”

“A mystery you say young woggle!” Professor Wimbleby replied happily opening his door.

“I woke up this morning and there was a strange spot on my bedroom wall but when I call mommy it had disappeared. Daddy and Mommy think I’m making it up but I am not. I must solve the mystery of the spot, can you help me?” Blue Halu explained.

“Of course Blue Halu, now tell me about his mystery spot,” Professor Wimbleby smiled guiding Blue Halu into his laboratory.

“It was white and shaped like a circle but its changed a little. It kept moving about jumping on my wall, like it was asking me to play, then it just disappeared!” Blue Halu answered.

A small chuckle sounded from Professor Wimbleby as he seemed to understand what this mystery spot was.

“Look at the wall Blue Halu and tell me if you see the spot again,” Professor Wimbleby instructed.

Staring at the wall Blue Halu shouted happily as the mystery spot appeared and began dancing on the wall again. Racing to the wall he tried to catch it but it kept jumping out of his reach. Turning to Professor Wimbleby he saw something in the older woggles hand.

“The mystery spot Blue Halu was a reflection,” he explained.

“A reflection?”

“Yes young woggle. You see when light hits some surfaces it creates a reflection, a little bit like when you look in the mirror. No doubt someone was walking past your home and the sunlight caught their wrist watch or their glasses and the light was reflected into your room,” Professor Wimbleby explained.

“Ohhh,” the young woggle opened his mouth in amazement.

“Mystery solved,” Professor Wimbleby smiled.

“What other surfaces would give a reflection?” the young woggle asked curiously.

“I know Blue Halu why don’t we investigate and find out?” Professor Wimbly suggested.

Nodding his head eagerly Blue Halu was eager to learn more about reflections and what could cause these mystery spots.
